Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger is an Austrian American bodybuilder, model, actor, businessman, and politcian with a net worth estimated at $400 million. He was born on July 30, 1947 in the tiny village of Thal, Austria. His father Gustav was the local chief of police. Schwarzennegger’s father was a very strict man who did not pay much attention to him as a child. His father favored Arnold’s older brother Meinhard. Two things helped Schwarzenegger make it through his childhood his close relationship to his mother and sports. In 1960, Schwarzenegger’s football coach took him to the local gym where he picked up his first barbell. At the age of fourteen is when Swarzenegger first devised the plan to become a professional bodybuilder. When he wasn’t in the gym he could be found in the local movie houses watching his bodybuilding heroes on the big screen. One of the huge influences on him was Steve Reeves. Steve Reeves was a professional bodybuilder who was award the name of Mr. Univerese in 1950.
He followed that by winning another bodybuilding contest. His name started to become known when he was voted “Best Built Man of Europe”. At the age of 20 he became the youngest person to ever be award the title of Mr. Universe. He would go on to win the title three more time. Even with all of his sucess as a bodybuiler he still found time to attend business school. In Semptember 1968 at the age of 21 and speaking very little English Schwarzenegger ventured to America. He trained at Gold’s Gym located in Santa Ca. In 1970, he was awarded his first “Mr. Olympia” title. He would go onto win the title several more time in his career
